The juror’s lecture and opening reception for the 8th Photographic Image Biennial Exhibition will be this Thursday, January 24th at the Wellington B. Gray Gallery at East Carolina University. This year’s Juror is Sam Wang who has an extensive history in photographic exhibition and education. He is well known for his construction of custom cameras and his stunning landscapes which are distinctively circular. To view his work and history click HERE. This year I am very happy to be part of the exhibit. The piece above titled: “Flynn Cemetery Offerings” was chosen for this year’s exhibit. “Flynn Cememtery Offerings” is a mix between digital collage and scanography. The entire image is scanned on a flatbed scanner, apart from the subtle hint of handwritten text and the faint image of Ty (my nephew). I will be taking a group of my photography students from Francis Marion University to the opening this Thursday. If you are looking for a great exhibit of photographic works this exhibit will not disappoint! Hope to see you there!
