Respites and Reflections

This January I took some time off from photo shoots. I did this so that I could take some time to reflect on 2009…what my strengths were, but more importantly to identify how I could improve as an image maker and business owner. I also wanted to take some time to consider the events and new things coming in 2010. It made me wish I had another few months to do some more reflecting. I also took some time to do one of my absolute most favorite things….make art! Last year Shannon and I took some time off and I revisited some of the images I made during our time off. I only took my film cameras. There is still something magical about film…always will be. I am still a cross process image maker. Sometimes I start out with film and end up with a digital print…as in these cases. I used a Lomo Diana to get these two exposures and then digitized the negatives to further manipulate. One of the things I love about shooting film is the anticipation between the time you make the exposure and the time you develop your negatives. So, here are two more images to add to my “Respites” body of work.

both are great, but I think the tree is my favorite.
